We eagerly awaited the successor to last year’s excellent H30, but we discovered that the H40 hasn’t improved on much from one of our top-rated gaming phones from last year.
The camera array now includes three rear cameras: a 48 MP main shooter, a wide-angle and macro lens, and also a depth of field sensor. Overall camera performance was very average. At 6.5 inches, the screen size is unchanged from last year’s model, and it sports basically the identical configuration of MediaTek P70, an 8-core main processor and the solid Mali G72 MP3 graphics chip, with the same 4 GB of RAM. So, while the H30 was one of our favourites from last year, it’s hard to get too excited about the H40 that offers little more.
